AUDITIONS Announced for The Wizard of Oz!
Director Scott Sauber and Slidell Little Theatre announce Auditions for the upcoming Season Opener for the 25/26 slate at SLT,
THE WIZARD of OZ
The RSC version of the musical is closest to the original 1939 movie with additional lyrics for the Scarecrow, Tinman, and Lion. It also includes a reprise of Over the Rainbow for Auntie Em and the jazz inspired Jitterbug Song that was cut from the original movie for the Witch and Dorothy.
WHERE: Slidell High School's Auditorium
WHEN: June 16 & 17 from 5:00 - 8:00

PREPARE: Auditioners are encouraged to sing 16 - 32 bars from the show.
All roles are available and all lead roles sing.
They include:
Dorothy, Tinman, Scarecrow, Lion, The Wizard, the Witch, Aunty Em, Uncle Henry/Gatekeeper, and Glinda. Multiple roles in Munchkinland will be cast as needed.
A separate email with the music tracks will be sent to those that sign up.
Auditioners should be prepared to demonstrate movement: think Scarecrow stumbles, Tinman stiffness, Lion fear, and Glinda grace. Dorothy's will be asked to skip down the Yellow Brick Road.

Sessions run Monday-Friday from 9am- 3pm with a performance at 10 a.m. on final Saturday morning
Session 1: May 27-June 6 with performance on June 7
(off on May 26)

MEMBERSHIP
Slidell Little Theatre has enchanted audiences in St. Tammany Parish since 1963. It was founded by volunteers who recognized the need for live theatre on the Northshore. Over the years, it has produced over 500 Main Stage shows. Volunteers from all walks of life unite to build sets, design costumes, choreograph, and act in theatrical productions which brings music, drama, and laughter to the Northshore. Before finding a home at 2024 Nellie Drive, next to the Fremaux Town Center, SLT performances were held at high school gyms, the city auditorium, and a remodeled church. Today, SLT's state-of-the-art facility houses two stages, the Main Stage and the Allen L. Little Stage.
