Re: Nice Sets

Well I guess that is what you get for 4 or 5 million dollars of union labor and materials.

Just think what we could do for a tenth of that.  Pay off the building? Build a Black Box?

But we are operating in the black, not at a loss!

Not complaining Fred.  The sets are really awesome.  The numbers are just staggerng!

Re: Nice Sets

I’m way behind the times here, but I’m excited to see this “theatre” forum in the index. I’d love to be able to keep up with the theatrical technology and artistic endeavors that interest the SLT Community.

I originally sent dad this link so he could see the scope of projects that are coming out of commercial scene shops up here. What I think is really interesting is the wide variety of productions that Global chose to feature in their portfolio.

I’d be really surprised to find out that any of those sets were in the 4 or 5 million dollar range and know for a fact that some of them weren’t even close to being that costly. I bet Old Acquaintance at American Airlines leads the pack, but the smallest project was probably as low as the 20k and actually is the more interesting one of the bunch. Obviously, that’s still a great deal more than the money that SLT has to work with. What’s nifty is that I think you can actually get a lot more bang for your buck where you guys are.
